Asteroids: Danger from space

The article, that we read in the Italian newspaper “Il Giorno” tells about Apophis asteroid that could fall on the earth in 2036. All the scientists of the world (Americans, Japanese, Europeans and Russians) are studying this possible natural event. There are two possibilities to prevent this disaster: the scientists could change the course of the asteroid or put into it explosive charge to destroy it. But before they should know better its chimical-geological composition and so they could send a satellite to discover and to understand possible variations of Apophis. The probability of the Apophis’ impact are very few, but the scientists are carefully controlling the information extract to provide safe dates about it. In fact they don’t want to alarm the population, but only inform them. Instead in the book we read “Andromeda” by Michael Chrichton, the population don’t know the advent of the satellite and Andromeda virus’ diffusion. We think that it is right to diffuse the informations and the truth to eliminate useless fears .
