Bird flu restrictions are lifted

 

 

Some bird flu restictions have been lifted, becouse the dead swan at in Cellardyke.
The measures, limiting the movement of polutry and eggs in eastern Scotland, were introduced on 5. April.
Test since than have estabilished that no further capes have been found. The birds in the 10 km controll zone will not be removed until 1. May, and the 3 km protection zone will lapse. So far test for the virus – wich can be possed to humans – on all dead birds across Scotland have proved negative.
Vets now belive the swan could spread the disease before died.
But the discovery of the bird at Cellardyke harbour prompted faers of a possible outbreak of bird flu in Scotland.
Restinctions are followed and local farms were warned not to transport polutry or eggs in or out of the area.
The restinctions on the movement of birds are also due to end on the date.
„I think we all know the damage that can be done when people panic” said Mr McColnel. Also Mr McColnel said reactions to the outbreak was quick and effective.
