We think this book is very realistic, in fact it is full of technical and scientific details. There are specific references about anatomy, biology, physics, medicine and chemistry. Besides the structure of the text is very realistic because the story is presented as a real event: Crichton inserts relations, documents and at the end the bibliography is very detailed, it means that the author is very informed about the topic. The story is very involving but the end is disappointing: maybe the author has thought to continue the story with another book, in fact this story is not really “finished” because the virus can change in other worse form. This book make you think about the vulnerability of the human genus, which is exhibited to many virus and microrganisms that can be selected by the OGM, the vaccines and the antibiotics, and that can be more strong and harmful.
