May, 2005:
the last
collaborative phase is taking more time... anyway the
Website is almost ready. All the students' papers will be
insertes as soon a they are ready.

April - May, 2005:
the
students are completing their individual work (deadline: 15
May). In the last two weeks of May they will merge their
work and create the collaborative writings. In the meantime
some students are creating the layout of the book's Website.

February/March, 2005:
the "Ninetenn Eighty-four" tandem (Italy and China) has
started the collaborative work on the book (chapters and
relevant topics). There are 16 groups working (mostly small
groups of three). Now the students are using their personal
email addresses to plan and carry out their common written
work. The deadline of this phase is the second decade of May
as both classes will have a lot of ...holidays in this
period. Here are the groups:

20 December 2004:
Today the two classes have had their first chat session : a
free chat about....everything! Many students have joined the
chat, especially from China as most of the Italian students
were playing a school football match before their Christmas
holidays.

13 December 2004:
Next Monday there will be a chat session (10:00 a.m. in
Italy, 5:00 p.m. in Bejing). The two classes have
established that at the end of January they will complete
the first part of the book (8 chapters).

20 November 2004:
The "Forum Cafe" area is full of personal messages from
Italy, China and Japan. The students have read the first
chapter of the book and are writing their comments on it.
The Chinese students have sent their photo.

22 October 2004:
The students of the two classes are reading the first
chapter of the book. On their forum there are the first
presentation messages.All the students have started reading
the first chapter of the book. A new discussion area has
been opened on the forum where the students can send their
first impressions on what they are reading.

15 October 2004:
Mrs. Wang Hong and her students have answered. They will be
the partners of the Italian class. Next week they will start
exchanging the first presentation messages on their
"personal" forum area.

September 2004:
The students of the class V A Liceo Scientifico Tecnologico
of Colleferro (Roma) write their first message on the
general forum of the project. They have chosen this book and
are searching for partners.
