June 2006:
All the work has
been arranged in hypertext form and now is online.

May 2006:
A lot of writings and
images have come to the coordinator both from the Hungarian
and the Italian students. All of them have been linked to
the working area so that all the participants could read and
comment them Here is a message from the project's
coordinator:
The text on bird flu is online
Dear friends, I see you are working
hard!!!!!!! Very well, we'll produce a good work in the end.
Dear Lilian, the texts about bird flu is online (see the
working area of your tandem). Dear Lilian and Katia, of
course in the end of May I will assemble all the materials
your students will produce in the final website of your
book. Please send me everything your students will produce,
including drawings if they want and.....everything you like.
Love
Daniela

April 2006:
The activities of April
through the messages exchanged on the forum by the two
teachers, Lilian (Hungary) and Katia (Italy), and Daniela,
the project's coordinator :
Dear Katia
I think we can get the students to talk to
each other, within the chat room , some forms of interaction
would be good, not only presentations. Let's start to
communicate! What do you think? We are at school this week,
but then we have Spring Holiday, which lasts for 10 days.
Keep in touch!
Lilian
Chat
& co.
Dear Lilian, some information first of all.
Within this week (you know Saturday is a school day in
Italy) my student Diana will send her work on Chrichton life
to Daniela. All the students envolved in the project have
read the novel and yesterday started to write the first
impressions on the book, it should be nice to chat about
this - and of course about them - but I have no clear ideas
about the organization of the chat. For example according to
my schedule the only possibility I have is on Wednesday from
about 10 a.m to 10.45 a.m. Is it o.k. for you? Or what do
you suggest? As to the subjects we wrote about in the last
week the students collected from newspaper articles about
bird flu and the next step of the work could be write some
short texts about the topic of the novel and the information
we received every day from scientists about the possibility
of the plague. In the next week we'll have some short
holidays: 24th and 25th April and of course 1st May.
I forward from you.
All the best
Katia
Plans
Hi Katia,
I saw your students' work on the forum. As to the chat i
have a suggestion: On Tuesday from 10.45 to 11.30 I am with
the class in the computer lab, if you can arrange this time
,notify me! I also try to swap the lesson, I don't attach
much hopes to it, but I will try. I agree on sharing first
impressions within a chat. I also agree on the short texts
about the bird flu. Tomorrow we are working with recent
articles on this topic in classroon, I think on Tuesday or
Wednesday we will be able to send texts to Daniela. My
proposition is to interact somehow, because these parallel
assignments don't mesh, they can overlap one another. Our
problem is why the students can't talk to each other
directly and put their messages immediately on the forum? It
would be much more enjoyable. Anyway, we are preparing for
the "Bird flu" issue, later I will write you again with my
ideas. We are now worried about our knife -edge elections,
by tomorrow the ther will be results .
Bye,
Lilian
Plans
Dear Lilian, I'm sorry, I'm replying you
late, as usual. As to chat: I can try to arrange on Tuesday
but not on 2nd May, I hope to be able to use the lab on 9th
May. Is it ok for you? My students have completed the "first
impression", now they are working on bird flu and on
Chrichton's theories ( if I remind correctly you proposed in
one of your e-mail this topic too), and hopefully they'll be
able to chat also about this on 9th May, for this purpose we
can use only one of our labs and it is always "booked". And
what about the final step of the work? You suggested to
realize something like a comic or a presentation of the
novel. I really do not know if my students have the
necessary competence to realize it but it should be nice to
try. I do not know if your media announced the results of
Italian political elections, almost a disaster: a really
very very little majority in one of the two chambers of the
Parliament, a hard job for the new Government. So I can
understand your feeling.
All the best
Katia
Hi Katia! Hi Lilian! The materials created by
your students are online
Hi there!!! All the works you sent me are
online (links are in your working area), icluding the last
doc files from the Italian students containing ther first
impressions on the book. Many compliments to you and your
students. Sorry for the problems the forum is creating to
you (and to me!). I told you I have asked the Ministry to
use another resource but it is not possible for this year.
Let's try to do what we can. The students can use their
personal email to exchange files and produce something in
common. In any case you can use me as a common/shared means
of communication as I can send all the messages I want on
the forum and I can do that for you = you send me and I
immediately post on the forum on your behalf.
Bye
Daniela

March 2006:
The
activities of March through the messages exchanged on the
forum by the two teachers, Lilian (Hungary) and Katia (Italy),
and Daniela, the project's coordinator :
Here's Lilian. Two of my students, Szabolcs
Gulyás and Tibor Gubucz are working on Crichton's life-work,
biography. Firstly, introducing Crichton in a creative way,
including his theories and speeches. All the students will
be able to put their intro-letters and the first impressions
on Tuesday, as this is the only period, when we can go to
computer lab to have English lesson. Bird-flu is a relevant
topic, I suggest that we get pupils to write about people's
feelings and reactions concerning rapid increase of the
epidemic in both countries. We can collect newspaper
articles on this topic, translate them and send reports to
each other. Other thoughts on the topics I will send in a
few days. We will celebrate 15th March ,our national
holiday/1848 revolution and war of independence/, then we
will have retreat ,preparing for Easter.
Have a nice week!
Lilian
Topics and co.
Dear Lilian, first of all I wish you nice
holiday and celebration! My students have prepared their
presentation and have put them into the site. As to
bird-flu: I agree with your suggestion, the students can
make some interviews (short and simple) and report them, or
they can prepare an interview with a certain number of
question, make a survey and report the results. A kind of
statistic survey. I have thought about other topics: what do
you think about this suggestion: the relationship between
science, scientific research and the use made by government
of the scientific results. Of course the topic is very
complicated but students can find articles about that and
make resumč and translation. What do you think? Have a nice
week end!
Ciao Katia
Hi, Katia,
I think the topic "science, science research
and government measures” will do , if you can find material
on these issues. We also "hunt" for some information on the
Internet. I suggest that we put the stuff about Crichton's
lifework on the board next week. I have a question. How can
students put their presentations on the board directly, so
far I've sent their intro-letters to Daniela.
All the best,
Lilian
Presentations from the students
Hi!!! Just a few lines to ask you what you
mean when you say to put the presentations of your students
on the board. If you mean on your working area (that is
linked to it) you can send the presentations to me and I
will immediately link them to your working area, in the same
way I have done for the other groups. If you mean on the
forum, the only way you can do it is just in the same way
you do for the messages, I am sorry but you can’t attach any
files to your messages on the forum. Next year we'll have
better forums!!!! Let me know what you would like to do, I
am always ready to collaborate with you...
See you
Daniela
I'll write as soon as possible
Dear Lilian, during this week I am really
very busy. I have read your message, I'll reply as soon as
possible. All the best Thank you
Ciao
Katia
