Diary of the classes looking for the world in this book

June2006: The Website is online.

April - May 2006: the Italian students have developed the points listed in the proposal of March, unfortunately the other two classes could nor take part in this final step. Anyway the works produced by the Italian students is the result of the contributions of the three schools expressed in the 157 messages posted in the forum discusson's areas.

March 2006: Topics to develop and groups to form for the final steps of the project in a forum's message:

Hi!!! Are you ready for the second part of the project?

The Italian and the Chinese students have finished reading the book, what about the Polish partners?
This is my proposal for the second part of our work (of course it is a starting proposal, you can suggest all the changes you want):
We could form small groups (not necessarily pairs, let's say groups of 3-4 people).
The first 15 groups should work on the 30 chapters of the book
Group 1 - chapters 1 and 2 of the book
Group 2 - chapters 3 and 4 of the book
Group 3 - chapters 5 and 6 of the book
Group 4 - chapters 7 and 8 of the book
Group 5 - chapters 9 and 10 of the book
Group 6 - chapters 11 and 12 of the book
Group 7 - chapters 13 and 14 of the book
Group 8 - chapters 15 and 16 of the book
Group 9 - chapters 17 and 18 of the book
Group 10 - chapters 19 and 20 of the book
Group 11 - chapters 21 and 22 of the book
Group 12 - chapters 23 and 24 of the book
Group 13 - chapters 25 and 26 of the book
Group 14 - chapters 27 and 28 of the book
Group 15 - chapters 29 and 30 of the book
These 15 groups will produce a presentation/file of the chapters by following a guide like this:
Ex: Chapters 1 and 2
Settings: (only listed as there will be a group that will describe them in details and we'll link this list to that page):
Characters: (only listed as there will be a group that will describe them in details and we'll link the list to that page):
Summary: (150-200 words)
Personal comments:(free length)
Relevant quotations and some comments on them: free length
Every page containing the presentation of 2 chapters should be illustrated with (possibly) drawings made by the students concerning the chapters presented or suitable images chosen by them that can illustrate the chapter.
Group 16 - The characters
This group can be a bigger one as the characters are many. They will present the characters one by one (description and events of which they are protagonist) and will complete their presentations with drawings of the characters. Some are already online and they can use also the drawings made by other students ...it's a collaborative work!!!!
Group 17 - The settings
See what has been said for group 16.
Group 18 - The author
Biography, works, links.....
Group 19 - the films
Two famous films have been made on this book, one just this year and they have been very successful so I think it would be interesting to present them in our website on this story.
When we have definitely established the number of groups and what they have to do, then I will write them in a list on the forum and students from each country will choose where they want to work. Of course it will be our task (I mean the teachers' task) to distribute them in all the groups. Then we (the teachers) will writte next to each group the name and the email address of the students who have chosen each group so that in a few days the groups will be formed (theme, components) and the students can start exchanging email messages to find a method of collaboration, first, and then exchange their writings and merge them in a unique work. I hope I am clear Please add, eliminate, change everything you want....let me know as soon as possible so we can start working OK?
See you soon
Daniela
