The "Heart of Darkness" Website is online!

May, 2005:
The final collaborative step is over and the Website is
developing in the hands of students and teachers..... The
Finnish teacher has written on the forum they are sorry as
the have not taken part in the last phase of the project,
but they are facing some big problems concerning their
school, they mean the building where they work and study
everyday. Don't worry friends, your collaboration has been
precious in all the other steps of the activity. Next year
everything will be better.

April, 2005:
The students are completing the "merging" of their
individual work. This step (creating collaborative writings
on the book) has taken more time, but is is going to finish.
Some students are creating the layout of the Website.

February, 2005:
The reading phase is over and now the "Heart of Darkness"
group (Italy, Austria, Finland) have started the pair work
on some themes from the book. Each student has communicated
his/her favourite theme and the pairs have been formed. Now
they are using their personal email addresses to plan and
carry out their collaborative written work. The deadline of
this phase is the second week of April.

December 2004:
The Austrian students have arrived at "the inner station"
and the Italian students are going to arrive there!

November 2004:
in the forum there are a lot of messages from the students
both in the "cafe" area (presentation messages) and in the
area of the first impressions about the novel. The Finnish
teachers have suggested some interesting issues to develop
while and after reading: 1 Colonialization in general 2.
Nietzsche`s philosophy 3 The descripton of the trip 4
Comparing the film "Apocalypse Now" and the novel .

October 2004:
Two classes have joined the Italian students, one is from
Bundesgymnasium of Rein, Austria (class 7A) and one is from
Cygnaeus Upper Secondary school of Jyväskylä, Finland . The
first presentation messages from the Italian and the
Austrian students are already on their forum. The first
messages from Finland are coming. All the students have
started reading the first section of the book. A new
discussion area has been opened on the forum where the
students can send their first impressions on what they are
reading.

September 2004:
The students of the class IV A Liceo Scientifico
Tecnologico, ITIS "S. Cannizzaro" of Colleferro (Rome) write
their first message on the general forum of the project.
They have chosen this book and are searching for partners.
