March
2006:
A lot of exchanges between the
teachers and the project's coordinator. here are the
messages of March in the teachers' discussion area:
Some
working ideas
Dear Geeta
and Dear Semra, yesterday I discussed with my students and
these are some ideas that came out: 1. one page of the
website about the author 2. summary 3. setting: For this it
could be nice to find paintings or drawings instead of just
writing 4. write a different ending 5. a dialogue between M.
Shelley and Stevenson 6. a dialogue between Jekyl and Lanyon
about science 7. a double interview Dr Jekyl and My Hyde (this
idea comes from a popular TV programme where two famous
people are asked the same questions contemporarily) What do
you think? Hope to hear from you soon. Franca
hello
Dear Franca,
Your new topics are nice. But I have a question about how we
can write ?Will all groups write together under the same
topic or each group seperately.?Semra
Groups
Dear Semra,
if I have understood correctly, students should write to
each other through e mail if they have to send files or they
can exchangee ideas through the forum. I know it is
difficult to work in group but we can try to make them work
in group in each classroom and then send the results. For
ex. some can think of different endings and then write what
they have thought and choose which is/are the better. SOme
of my students have already written something about the
author and the period, possibly yours could add something or
modify what they have written so as to have a complete text.
What do you think? Bye Franca
Hi Franca, Hi Semra, Hi Geeta
How are you?
I have seen you are trying to define the themes to develop
and form the groups. I think you should complete this phase
as soon as possible, otherwise the students will not have
time to complete their works and assemble them in the final
website (this final work will be done by me and the my group
in the very end of the school year). Please start the last
phase of the collaborative work as soon as possible. I
suggest to write the list of themes, then every student from
each class (or two from each class depending on the number
of students) will choose one of them. So next to the title
of the theme each teacher will write the name of the student
and email address. In a few days you'll have the groups
associated to each theme. The students will not use the
forum in this phase, but only their email addresses so they
can attach the drafts of their work in the exchanges. I don't
know whether you are still having problems in using this
forum but fortunately it doeas not matter in this phase as
they will not use it! Let me know something as soon as
possible See you soon Daniela
Themes
Hi Daniela
How many themes are you suggesting? Please tell your opinions
about the titles. As I understand one student is enough for
each theme. So for example for 10 themes 10 students will
be.See you
hello
Dear Franca
lets decide on the themes. Please tell your opinions about
the topics.See you.Semra
Themes
Dear Semra, I
repeat here my message of some time ago: "Dear Geeta and
Dear Semra, yesterday I discussed with my students and these
are some ideas that came out: 1. one page of the website
about the author 2. summary 3. setting: For this it could be
nice to find paintings or drawings instead of just writing
4. write a different ending 5. a dialogue between M. Shelley

science 7. a double interview Dr Jekyl and My Hyde (this
idea comes from a popular TV programme where two famous
people are asked the same questions contemporarily) What do
you think? Hope to hear from you soon. " Are these possible
themes? Bye Franca
Themes
I have seen
in your previous messages that you have decided some themes
yourselves. What you have to do now is simply to list them
in a message and let the students of your classes choose one
of them, so you can form the groups, OK? Don't forget to
write next to each student his/her email address so you'll
have in the end the list of the themes, the members of the
groups and their email addresses, that is to say all you
need to start working in groups via mail. The final works
should be ready withing the middle of May, so that I can
assemble them in a site within the beginning of June. See
you soon daniela
