"The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde"

A different end to

I strongly feel that the climax of the story 'The
Strange Case Of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde could've
been a better one. It’s an old story of the
Victorian times, which comments upon the dualism of
human nature. Dr. Jekyll had only one side of his
nature and that is evil. This is evident from the
fact as even when he was in his real self, the
hunger for the fun of committing crimes was there in
him. It is the two kinds of his physical appearance
that we get to see. I feel that towards the end he
should have changed himself and not died. He
could've felt guilty and tried to discover a new
kind of potion which would've made him 'a permanent
Dr.Jekyll' and would have relieved him of the
problem of turning into Mr. Hyde in unwanted times.
In the end he could've confessed all his secrets to
Mr. Utterson. In this manner, the major theme of the
story-defeat of evil against good could've been
retained and hence it would've been a happier
ending.

When Mr. Hutterson went to Dr. Jekyll’s house and he
found only the servant, he understood his friend was
in the laboratory and there was something wrong.
Then he smashed in the door and he saw a terrible
scene: Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde were the same person!...
He remained upset and he couldn’t believe to his
eyes. His friend was in a painful state because the
transformation had not succeeded this time, so he
appeared half man and half monster. Mr. Hutterson
understood he had to take part although Dr. Jekyll
would be died. Then he asked to his friend to tell
him all the story from the beginning so that he
could find a way in order to help him.
Thanks to the detections, he managed to create a
potion to separate Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde in two
different bodies. The experiment succeeded with
happening: Mr. Hutterson had in front of him Dr.
Jekyll and Mr. Hyde!!! But unexpectedly Mr. Hyde in
agreement with Dr. Jekyll killed Mr. Hutterson, in
order to avoid that their secret was revealed. After
that night the two didn’t see themselves again…..
