How
scientists misuse their powers?
by Vasundhara Srinivas and
Roohneet Kochar (India)

Time and again man has misused his powers whether it
is muscle power, money power, creative power or
scientific power. How can you explain cloning?Isn’t
that misuse of scientific powers? How can man
interfere with the work of God?Isn’t creation meant
to be God’d domain?God has given man intelligence
and with that wisdom. But,sadly man uses intelligence
without wisdom. We have no authority to meddle with
God’s creation.By doing so man is trying to flaunt
his powers overruling God’s supremacy.Dr.Jekyll had
intelligence but no wisdom. He brought out his evil
side by using his scientific powers. How nice it
would have been if only he had used wisdom for the
good of people. Then we could have had a good end as
our friend Kunal has suggested.
The problems of
science
by Shailza (India)

Although Scientific invention have revolutionized
the world. It has to a certain extent made our life
comfortable but it has even done a great damage to
human existence.Its unlimited potential of
destruction has helped in developing many inhuman
methods of destroying the human race.
It is not correct to blame science for it as this
destruction has been caused by the hand which uses
science .We humans are misusing this creative power
for our selfish means. It is the people who think of
using science as a weapon of subjugation ,instead of
as a means of happiness. The wrong is done by the
hand which uses this tool. We should ,therefore,
thrive to stop the people who misuse this power as
it poses a threat to human life .
Although cloning has some advantages but its
disadvantages also cant be overshadowed by its
advantages we cant neglect the fact that because of
this power we can generate deformed creatures and
the cloned creatures shall have problems with
identities.
How science is
represented in The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and
Mr. Hyde
By Alessio & Andrea (Italy)
Between the last period of 19th century and the
first part of 20th century the relationships between
science , philosophy , literature reach a new vision
of the world. The english scene in front of the size
of the discussion about the origins of knowledge
shows how were limitated the victorian's reactions
about the theory of Darwin . Not only science with
its technologies applications gives the base for
literature of that period , but also configures the
problematic analogic structure of the romance . In
the strange case of doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde the
figure of the scientist is represented as a creature
who lives in laboratory with his experiments and
discovers . In fact laboratory is the place where is
practiced the art of science and this subject could
give a new vision of the world of reality and man .
In that period science could be considered a sort of
black magic .
SCIENCE MUST BE AVAILABLE TO HUMAN KIND
In the last century we've seen that science has been
developed due to new technologies and due to a new
futuristic vision of the world . This new conception
is aimed to go beyond the moral limits of human
knowledge . For exemple we can discuss about the
problem of human clonation . We think that is wrong
to create " a copy of us " only to demonstrate the
power of science . In fact only God has this power
and this permission : life doesn't depends on us .
How could you feel if scientists would have the
autorisation to clone a human being ? If scientists
ignore and don't give importance to these limits we
are not going to improve our society , but we are
going to spoil it . We can see an anology between
our ideas and what happened to Dr. Jekyll .. In fact
it seems that science has taken out the evil from
Dr. Jekyll : his own discovery brought him to a
disaster.
