Dear Sir and Madame,
My name is Jean-Baptiste Grenouille and I am applying
for the job you offered in the newspaper last week.
I think that I am the right person for this job because
in my childhood I learned to do hard work. Moreover I am
resistant against illnesses what means that I can work
for you every day. I’ll never be ill.
Furthermore I do have a talent, which only a few people
have got in this world. I am able to select fragrances,
odours and body odours. In my mind I can remember them
for years. Every day I am searching for new ones, which
complete my selection, but I think that a special
selection like this will never be really accomplished.
Among hundreds of smells I can find out which ones I
know and which ones are new for me. Without knowing the
name of a perfume or its components I am able to mix it
for you again. I can even change some elements and
create completely new perfumes. Many years ago I was
most interested in body odours. I collected millions of
them inside me and created a new, an unbelievable
perfume which will never exist in this world again.
I hope that I could convince you to give me the job.
