·        Skimming texts and online materials in order to evaluate them and choose the ones suitable for the pre-fixed purpose and the given task

·        Scanning in order to find specific needed information

·        Analytical reading in order to completely understand a text/page

·        Speaking, in brainstorming activities preceding the research in order to find the suitable key words and set a productive research,  in presenting the materials found, in discussing about the information found, in designing and carrying out a final product, in negotiating work with a partner inside the class or at a distance, and in presenting the final work

·        Writing, in taking notes, summarising and commenting the materials found, in producing letters, messages, assignments and the written parts of hypermedia

·        Listening during the class discussion and in comprehending the CD-ROM and Internet materials presented in sound format.

·        Finding key words relative to a topic to be researched

·        Discriminating the materials found according to one’s own goals

·        Transferring the information found in the sources used and  personal ideas in an original communicative ‘product’ (hypertext, letter, web page, written assignment, oral presentation, etc) with specific characteristics
