Colleferro

Colleferro is an industrial and commercial centre. It is a medium size town (25,000 inhabitants) in the province of Rome. Colleferro just celebrated its 70th birthday, it is so recent because it was born with the construction of the SNIA (an army ammunition production building) and continued to grow year after year with people coming from everywhere in Italy to work here so the town started developing near the factory.

The most important factories are SNIA BPD , Italcementi and some others. Colleferro has every kind of public facilities: hospital, 3 churches, cinemas, supermarkets, 2 swimming pools and a large number of gymnasiums. In Colleferro there are many places where you can practice your hobbies.

There are also many shops
and shopping centres. Colleferro is formed by two main streets and a big square: they are “Via 25 Aprile”, “Corso Filippo Turati” and “Piazza Italia”. There people have their commercial activities and around “Piazza Italia” there are some bars, shops, and the town hall; behind the town hall there is also the principal church. Colleferro has got many schools: the elementary schools, middle schools , and high schools like the ITIS Cannizzaro, the Liceo scientifico and IPIA Parodi Delfino. A picturesque area of Colleferro is “Via degli Atleti”, where there is a big  cinema, a garden, a big park, where sometimes we go to play football, and a pitch. Another place is “San Bruno”: here there are some gardens and a modern church, where the children can play. In conclusion we can say that Collferro is a quiet and nice city.
